Topman is a male extension from the hugely successful female store Topshop. Topman provides high end men’s clothing for a resemble price. Some might even argue that it is the new Urban Outfitters. The fact that Topman originated in the United Kingdom is a good enough reason for me shop there in the first place. In addition to its foreign touch, Topshop offers everything from professional sreet wear to street wear. With only one real main store in the United States there’s is always a wait to get in. When I went to Soho, New York to visit Topman for the first time there was a line outside the store to get in. (That’s how serious it is.)
Topman’s styling influence ranges from just about every genre. When you walk in the store you might see indie-rock in the front and in the back an upper eastside style. You won’t at all find everyday designers in Topman. There are always up-and-coming designers to when you visit. Kim Jones, Markus Lupfer and Peter Jensen are some of the many designers that have made Topman their home.
Topman has earned “Best Fashion Retailer” at the Maximum Style Awards and “Best High Street Retailer” Retailer’ at the 2007 FHM Fashion and Grooming awards.
